The Southwest Illinois Baseball League has openings in its 2009 league season for teams in the 9-under, 10-under, 12-under and 13-under age groups. The 2009 Select Baseball League is accepting teams in ages 9-under through 14-under at the FSC Fields in Freeburg. The league will be USSSA sanctioned and run under the direction of Glen Polacek with the Southern Illinois Select Baseball League. Glen Polacek, 939-6442 or 792-6880.
A local 12-under select team that has won league and national championships is looking to fill its 11-man 2009 roster. Team will play in tournaments in O’Fallon, Freeburg and Waterloo. 628-8208.
